What is Bad Art?

Is there such a thing as bad art? Do we know it when we see it? Are there some standards that everyone agrees on (or should agree on) or do we all make subjective decisions about things we like and don’t like and call those good and bad?

For February Art Walk, Flint Public Art Project will host several brief presentations and an open community discussion about the function of art, aesthetics, taste, and value. Our goal is to spark an ongoing debate about the meaning of (bad) art in the world, and the role and impact of art on our lives. Everyone is invited to participate and join in the conversation, and to listen to and learn from each other.

There are no right or wrong, good or bad answers. (Or are there?)
