Esh moved from New England to Tampa Bay in 1985, and developed a deep love of Florida’s natural world during his time working on controlled burns and having river adventures in Hillsborough County with the late great Terry Tomalin. This deep love of nature nurtured his creativity, as seen in a piece of carved driftwood mounted above the Wilderness Park Entry Station. Self-taught, and carried on by a love of Art History, Eric began doing murals professionally in 2012, and exclusively since 2017. He has since made a splash in the Tampa Bay Art scene by curating the iconic cube outside of the Straz Center for Performing Arts, teaching watercolor in the Hillsborough County Community Summer Camp, a solo show “A Dark Exotic Vividly.”, and being a part of popular group shows like the St. Pete Robot Exchange.
