Cool Fires

July 25, 2014, 5 - 8 pm

718 Stone St., Flint, MI

Famous instigator, cultural icon, and wild menace — fire has been re-figuring the landscape around us for hundreds of thousands of years. Flames are a symbol of energy, passion, and fearlessness; a merciless but seductive force, spurring growth in a wake of ash. This exhibition seeks to spark a conversation about the reality and romance of fire in the city of Flint.

All chosen work will be displayed in the Unusual Operation Operation art space from July 25th – August 8. After the exhibit, all images and sculptures will be installed in UOO’s permanent collection. Some work may be exempt from this if the artist wishes to have it returned.

Donations collected at the opening will benefit the City of Flint Fire Department.
